Training and certification disclaimer 
CertCop is an independent, vendor-neutral cybersecurity education and certification provider committed to advancing cybersecurity knowledge through ethical, legal, and responsible education. Our mission is to develop skilled cybersecurity professionals who can protect individuals, businesses, governments, and critical infrastructure against evolving cyber threats.

All CertCop courses, certifications, laboratories, workshops, webinars, books, videos, online learning materials, examinations, and educational resources are intended solely for educational, defensive, research, compliance, auditing, vulnerability assessment, incident response, digital forensics, penetration testing (with proper authorization), and cybersecurity awareness purposes.

Educational Purpose Only

Every course offered by CertCop is designed exclusively to help learners:

• Protect their own systems and digital assets.
• Secure systems owned by their employer or clients with proper written authorization.
• Identify and remediate cybersecurity vulnerabilities.
• Improve organizational security posture.
• Detect, prevent, investigate, respond to, and recover from cyber incidents.
• Meet professional, regulatory, industry, and compliance requirements.
• Prepare for cybersecurity certifications and careers.

CertCop does not teach or encourage cybercrime or unlawful hacking.

Ethical Use Requirement

By registering for, purchasing, accessing, attending, or participating in any CertCop training program—including instructor-led training, virtual classes, self-paced courses, laboratories, webinars, mentoring, workshops, certifications, examinations, coaching sessions, or educational content—you agree that you will use all knowledge, tools, software, laboratories, demonstrations, scripts, and instructional materials only for lawful and ethical purposes.

You specifically agree NOT to use any knowledge obtained from CertCop to:

• Gain unauthorized access to any computer, network, cloud service, application, account, database, API, wireless network, IoT device, or information system.
• Attack, exploit, compromise, disrupt, damage, interfere with, or disable any system or service.
• Develop, distribute, or deploy malware, ransomware, spyware, viruses, worms, trojans, botnets, or other malicious software.
• Conduct phishing, credential theft, identity theft, social engineering, cyberstalking, fraud, denial-of-service attacks, or unauthorized surveillance.
• Steal, modify, encrypt, delete, exfiltrate, or destroy information.
• Circumvent security controls without authorization.
• Violate intellectual property rights, confidentiality obligations, privacy laws, or contractual agreements.
• Engage in any activity prohibited by applicable local, national, or international law.

Authorized Use Only

Many cybersecurity tools demonstrated during CertCop training are powerful professional security tools intended for legitimate defensive purposes.

These tools may be used only:

• On systems that you personally own; or
• On systems for which you have explicit written authorization from the lawful owner.

Possessing cybersecurity knowledge does not grant permission to scan, monitor, exploit, attack, or access any third-party system.

Written authorization must always be obtained before performing any security testing.

Open-Source and Third-Party Software

Many software applications, frameworks, operating systems, scripts, forensic utilities, penetration testing tools, cloud platforms, AI technologies, and vulnerability assessment tools demonstrated throughout CertCop training are developed, maintained, and distributed by independent third parties.

These technologies may include open-source software, commercial software, community projects, or publicly available security tools.

Unless expressly stated otherwise:

• CertCop does not own these third-party tools.
• CertCop does not develop or maintain these applications.
• CertCop does not control future functionality, licensing, updates, or security of third-party software.
• Demonstration of a tool does not constitute ownership, endorsement, sponsorship, or certification by CertCop.

These tools are demonstrated solely within an educational environment to explain legitimate cybersecurity concepts and defensive practices.

Individual Responsibility

Each learner is solely responsible for how they use any knowledge, techniques, software, scripts, frameworks, demonstrations, or tools obtained through CertCop training.

CertCop cannot supervise or control the actions of learners after training has concluded.

Accordingly, each participant accepts full legal and personal responsibility for all actions taken before, during, and after completing any CertCop course.

Assumption of Risk

You acknowledge that cybersecurity education includes learning techniques that, if misused, could:

• Cause damage to computer systems.
• Result in data loss.
• Disrupt services.
• Violate applicable laws.
• Create civil or criminal liability.

You voluntarily assume all risks associated with the use of any knowledge, laboratories, demonstrations, tools, software, or instructional materials provided by CertCop.

No Authorization

Nothing contained in any CertCop:

• Course
• Certification
• Examination
• Laboratory
• Workshop
• Webinar
• Book
• Video
• Presentation
• Website
• Documentation
• Learning material

shall be interpreted as granting permission to perform unauthorized security testing or any activity against any third-party system.

Written authorization from the lawful owner is always required.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, CertCop, including its owners, directors, officers, instructors, employees, contractors, authors, publishers, affiliates, licensors, certification partners, training partners, volunteers, consultants, distributors, resellers, successors, and assigns, shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, exemplary, punitive, special, or other damages arising from:

• Use or misuse of cybersecurity knowledge acquired through CertCop training.
• Use or misuse of cybersecurity tools demonstrated during training.
• Unauthorized activities performed by any participant.
• Criminal or civil acts committed by any learner.
• Actions taken after completion of any course.
• Third-party software referenced during training.
• Open-source software used within laboratories.
• Loss of business, revenue, profits, goodwill, or data.

Indemnification

By enrolling in any CertCop course, you agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CertCop and its owners, officers, employees, instructors, affiliates, licensors, certification partners, publishers, vendors, contractors, distributors, and training partners from and against any claims, investigations, lawsuits, judgments, liabilities, settlements, damages, penalties, fines, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from:

• Your violation of this disclaimer.
• Your unlawful or unauthorized activities.
• Your misuse of cybersecurity knowledge or tools.
• Your negligence or intentional misconduct.
• Your violation of any applicable law, regulation, or contractual obligation.

No Endorsement of Illegal Activity

CertCop expressly condemns and prohibits:

• Unauthorized hacking
• Cybercrime
• Malware development
• Ransomware deployment
• Phishing
• Identity theft
• Fraud
• Data theft
• Extortion
• Denial-of-service attacks
• Unauthorized surveillance
• Credential theft
• Any unlawful or unethical cyber activity

Offensive security techniques are taught solely to help cybersecurity professionals understand, detect, prevent, investigate, respond to, and defend against real-world cyber threats.

Right to Suspend or Terminate Access

CertCop reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to suspend or permanently terminate a participant’s access to:

• Courses
• Laboratories
• Certifications
• Examinations
• Learning platforms
• Memberships
• Student portals
• Digital content
• Community platforms
• Any other CertCop services

if CertCop reasonably believes that the participant has violated this policy or engaged in unlawful, unethical, abusive, fraudulent, or malicious conduct.

Compliance with Applicable Laws

Every participant is solely responsible for complying with:

• Applicable local laws
• National laws
• International laws
• Industry regulations
• Employer policies
• Contractual obligations
• Professional codes of ethics
• Licensing requirements

Any civil, criminal, administrative, regulatory, or financial liability resulting from misuse of training rests solely with the individual responsible for those actions.

Intellectual Property

All CertCop course materials, books, presentations, laboratories, videos, graphics, examinations, practice questions, branding, trademarks, logos, and educational content are protected by applicable copyright and intellectual property laws.

Unless expressly authorized in writing, participants may not:

• Copy
• Reproduce
• Redistribute
• Publish
• Sell
• License
• Modify
• Upload
• Share
• Commercialize

any CertCop educational material.

Acceptance of Agreement

By registering for, purchasing, accessing, attending, downloading, or participating in any CertCop course, certification, laboratory, webinar, workshop, examination, mentoring session, coaching program, self-paced course, instructor-led training, online learning platform, or educational service, you acknowledge that:

• You have read this Cybersecurity Training Disclaimer and Acceptable Use Policy.
• You understand its contents.
• You agree to comply with all applicable laws and ethical standards.
• You accept full responsibility for your actions.
• You agree to be legally bound by this Disclaimer, Acceptable Use Policy, Assumption of Risk, and Limitation of Liability Agreement.
