The Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) is a professional certification offered by ISACA (formerly known as the Information Systems Audit and Control Association). CISA-certified professionals are competent in conducting IT audits, evaluating the governance and management of IT processes, and providing assurance on the reliability and security of information systems.
The CISA certification covers the following key domains:
- Information System Auditing Process: Understanding the process of planning, conducting, and reporting on information system audits, including risk assessment and audit standards.
- Governance and Management of IT: Knowledge of IT governance frameworks, IT policies, and organizational structures, as well as IT strategy, performance measurement, and risk management practices.
- Information Systems Acquisition, Development, and Implementation: Understanding the controls and practices involved in acquiring, developing, and implementing information systems, including project management, system development life cycle (SDLC), and system migration and integration.
- Information Systems Operations, Maintenance, and Support: Proficiency in evaluating the effectiveness of information systems operations, maintenance, and support activities, including incident and problem management, change management, and IT service management.
- Protection of Information Assets: Knowledge of information security concepts, policies, standards, and procedures, including physical and logical access controls, network security, and data classification and protection.
